President Park Geun-hye made a stop at Fraunhofer, an institute in Dresden that focuses on ceramic research, during her visit to Germany to attend the Korea-Germany Industrial-Academic-Research Cooperation Strategy Meeting.

At the meeting, NUGA Global Chairman Cho Syung-hyun gave a briefing on Tourmanium, a new technology of Nuga, in the presence of President Park and experts from various sectors, and he also touched upon the strategies to foster small “hidden champions.”

Established in 1949, Fraunhofer is a world-class applied science research institute that is considered one of the four top research institutes in Germany along with Max-Planck, Helmholtz and Leibniz.

Nuga Medical signed an international joint research agreement with the German research institute in 2011 and has been researching and developing a wide range of medical devices using Tourmanium ever since.

The Kore-Germany Industrial-Academic-Research Cooperation Strategy Meeting was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate Nuga Medical’s technological process, and we will continue our endeavors to serve as a role model in following the vision of the Korean government to promote creative economy.
